What We Do
Postpartum Doula
A Postpartum Doula provides support to mom and family in the first few weeks following birth and bringing home your new baby. We will guide you through basic baby care, mother care, and household assistance. Focus is on you, mom and entire family vs. primarily the newborn. A postpartum doula provides evidence based information on things such as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother-baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care.
What are the benefits?
Research shows that moms, dads, and babies have an easier transition if a good support team is in place.
Help with emotional and physical recovery after birth
Light housekeeping so that mom does not feel so overwhelmed and if family visiting they can focus on baby
Running errands
Assistance with newborn care such as diapering, feeding, bathing, and comforting while mom rests
Accompany mom + baby to appointments
Meal planning
Nanny training + transitioning
“Stephanie came into our lives following the loss of our dear friend, wife, daughter, sister and Mother who passed during childbirth, leaving behind 3 children two of whom are twin infants. Stephanie worked with our family three nights a week and provided an immeasurable amount of support, structure and respite for the children’s immediate family and friends during our time of grief. Entrusting your children to an ‘outsider’ is something that can be extremely stressful and scary, especially given the tragedy our family is enduring, but Stephanie provided a sense of expertise and care that immediately made us at ease when the children were under her care. Stephanie will be dearly missed by our family.”
